We went on an overnight backpacking trip to Point Reyes last month.  It’s a fantastic area with tons of great trails and beaches.  When we returned home and were unpacking our gear, I noticed a green frog on my backpack and was wondering how one of the boys’ toys had gotten onto my backpack when the frog suddenly moved.  In true girlie fashion I let out a surprised yell.  The ensuing chaos was quite entertaining while Kevin attempted to catch it, and you can imagine the boys excitement that a real live frog had come home in my backpack.

After a little research we determined she was a Pacific Treefrog, and her range includes our area.  We know a small creek in the area that has a lot of frogs and decided that was a great place to let her go free.  Now everytime we drive by this creek, the boys like to talk about our sneaky hitchhiker.
